TYING IN PRODUCTS FOR YOUR SITE

Tie-in products and services can be offered in separate classified ads, and they can also be offered directly to those who inquire about or order another of your products. A combination of these two methods will usually provide the greatest increase in income for you. No matter what product you use to establish your business, there will be numerous other products which you can use as tie-ins to broaden your scope of operation.
The time to consider tie-ins is when your affiliate marketing site business is young and just starting to grow. Although results will be slower in coming it will be less expensive at this stage to offer your tie-ins directly to those who inquire about your advertised product or service and to those who eventually order from you. This can be handled by direct mail advertising. You should prepare sales messages, offers, order blanks and other materials for your tie-ins and include these in the mailing you make when inquiries start to arrive.
This method of advertising your tie-ins has several affiliate marketing site advantages. Those who reply to your classified ads are already interested in at least one item you advertised. When they receive your mailing they not only receive the information they asked for but are also confronted with one or more offers of additional similar items. The person who is interested in buying a sharpening stone, and very possibly in other related items. Thus, many orders you receive for the specific item mentioned in your classified ad will also include orders for your tie-ins. Too, some of those who do not decide to purchase your advertised item will send in orders for tie-ins. These extra orders greatly increase your income and cost you almost nothing to secure. They also make customers out of far more inquirers than would happen without tie-in offers.
It will also be advantageous to include tie-in sales messages with each order you ship for your affiliate marketing site. The cost is minimal and some of these will result in additional orders. The customer may have lost or discarded the information you previously sent. He may currently decide he wants something else you are offering. He may suddenly have more money to spend than he had earlier. He may be influenced by the quality of what he has purchased when he has it in his hand and thus be included to order additional items from you. There are many unknown reasons the customer may be more willing to buy at one time than another. What you must do is make it as easy as possible for him to buy, and to remind him occasionally of all the things you have to offer.
As your business expands and you include more tie-ins in your product line, mail these new offers periodically to your old customers and inquirers whose cards are in your completed file. Mailings should be at least two or three new items. You can also enclose sales materials on existing items since the customer may now be in the market for them although he was not the last time you contacted him.
